The Style Storm of Seventies

IS 70’S FASHION BACK IN INDIA ?

DO YOU KNOW WHAT  DID REAL WOMEN  WEAR  IN  70’S ?

Hi Readers!

I’m a huge fan of 70’s fashion.  The decade created diverse shades of style that stand up today as well. It’s true that the golden 70’s sail over the runways every couple of seasons, but now they are hitting the realways also with a bang. So in this post let’s celebrate the return of seventies.

The era was dominated by high waist Plazzo pants for both the genders. This vintage fashion was popularised by Bollywood also. Amitabh Bachchan made us swoon as his long legs sported the edgy bell bottoms (wide legged plazzo pants). And so did the Bollywood diva Neetu Kapoor. The glamour queen of Tale of a Trend personified the style in plazzo pant-suit. The world fell head-over-heels in love with disco when Saturday Night Fever hit the cinemas in 1977. Thus, the glitter and glam of disco dance floor was also incorporated in the attire with gold tasselled blouse and mirror work on the coat lapel.

Boldly colored clothes in lux fabrics rocked the scenario in men’s fashion. 70s outfits are quite intense in aesthetic but paired with some new-age clothing you can really rule the contemporary fashion. Keeping this in mind, the guy gave a subtle nod to the era by teaming red coat with black shirt and trouser accompanied with a neck scarf. In another look, his white kurta and trademark ethnic embroidered Nehru jacket in hues of red ensured that he stood out from other men in suits on every traditional occasion. It was accessible, versatile, fashionable and easy to wear.

They’re simple garments to wear but, we love them. Find your best 70’s clothes and start your weekend with a style!
