Vintage in Vogue 2026  celebrates Indian Handloom and Heritage through premium Runway Showcase

  New Delhi, March 15, 2026 – Redefining the Roots Welfare Association and Tale of a Trend presented Vintage in Vogue 2026, a spectacular fashion showcase that celebrated the richness of Indian textiles, craftsmanship, and cultural storytelling. Curated and directed by fashion mentor Mehak Gulati, the event brought together designers, artisans, influencers, diplomats, and young creative talents on one vibrant platform.

The extravaganza commenced with a warm and gracious welcome of distinguished dignitaries and guests, followed by the traditional Deepdaan ceremony.

The evening further witnessed series of thematic runway presentations inspired by India’s diverse textile traditions. From the elegance of Paithani sarees, the vibrancy of Phulkari embroidery, and the legacy of Banarasi weaves to contemporary interpretations of Assamese Mekhla, Bhujodi sarees, and Madhubani-inspired fashion, each segment showcased how heritage textiles can evolve into modern fashion narratives.

A standout moment of the evening was the theme “Madhubani to Moscow,” celebrating cross-cultural diplomacy through fashion. In a unique showcase, international guests walked the ramp draped in Madhubani-inspired sarees crafted by Indian weavers and styled by students, symbolizing the meeting of tradition and global elegance.

The event also featured the Root 360 Film Extravaganza, where young creators expressed their interpretation of Indian culture through one-minute films. The competition was judged by an esteemed panel including Parul Malhotra, Amit Channa, Bhuvan Verma, and Palak Gaur, with renowned actor and news anchor Shrivardhan Trivedi serving as the Chief Jury Chair.

Another engaging segment, “Drape It With Bose,” featured cultural influencer Rohit Bose, popularly known as the Modern Dhoti Man, who demonstrated innovative draping styles and challenged participants to style sarees as dhotis within minutes.

Adding to the celebration, the evening also witnessed the launch of Gulrose, an artisanal attar brand inspired by the traditional fragrance heritage of Kannauj.

Blending fashion, heritage, art, and storytelling, Vintage in Vogue 2026 emerged as a powerful platform that not only celebrated India’s textile legacy but also encouraged young designers and creators to reinterpret culture for a global audience.
